If you conduct a survey based on a single question asking whether people are satisfied or not with their residential electricity bills, you will definitely get a ‘no’ in reply from a majority of people. It’s a fact that most of the people get annoyed by a single glimpse of the power bills that they get at the start of each month. There are lovers of deregulation who never get exhausted by making big claims about the best services that this market has brought for the customers but yell outs from the opponents of this market never stop. What is right and why is not the question – the low or high power bills is what that matters. So, what is the solution? Has this debate an ending?
Whenever you want to look for something, for example, you want a solution that proposes low residential electricity bills; you need to go for its tangible proofs. Has cheap electricity discovered? Is there anybody really paying low for power usage? If you find that person, you can step forward and take your debate to the next level and hence this debate will start covering its stages. So, in what jungles are these low electricity bills paying creatures live? Well, I said that just for fun – don’t worry as we won’t have to go to jungles or caves to find low bills paying evidence. Every time, I visit some forum for discussion, I come across many people of from the both tribes – those favoring regulated market and those opposing it. Putting aside the bias, we can approach a result on the basis of discussion that take place in these forums and discussion boards.
If regulated market was good and as per the expectations of people, why it transformed into a deregulated market in Texas? Or I can ask this question the other way – if deregulated market is nothing but high residential electricity bills, why doesn’t it collapse? It’s a natural phenomenon that empty spaces get filled. In a business atmosphere that is technology-ridden, the replacement is a solution that is compatible with the latest technology. Deregulated energy market in Texas is different from the regulated market because it has more than one retail electric provider (REP) to serve the people (or to suck blood as regulated market lovers call them).
A comparative analysis will tell you which option was a better move but first find out the people that are paying low power bills. A right plan brings the right power bills. Cheap electricity has discovered and paying low is no more a news. Have you befriended your power bills?
