Are you having problems shedding the fat that's on your body? Do you work out hard and try to eat healthy, but the weight isn't coming off as fast as you think it should? This is a common problem that lots of people struggle with, and it may not even be your fault. You see, food companies put all sorts of unhealthy ingredients in our foods because it makes it cheap and tasty. But one of these ingredients in particular could be sabotaging your body, making it very hard to burn your body fat. I'm sure by now you've heard of the big "trans fat" scare (and it is scary). And it seems like everything you buy now says "0 grams trans fats!" The problem though, is that most people don't know what these are, and also what foods DO actually contain these. One of the most common trans fats is hydrogenated vegetable oil. If you start looking at the ingredients in the foods you buy, you'll find that this stuff is everywhere. Hydrogenated oil makes the oil in foods thicker and have a longer shelf life. It is also very cheap, which is why it's in so much food. This type of trans fat has been linked to many health complications including diabetes, coronary disease, and obesity. One of the reasons is that hydrogenated oils are not good for us, in fact, they are barely considered food and are closer to a plastic! They don't supply our bodies with the essential healthy fats that we need to live healthy. So our body will not stop being hungry until we get the good fats, which mean we'll eat more, which in turn makes us fatter. Some of the common foods that hydrogenated oils are found in are margarine, crisco, peanut butter, candy bars, even things like hot cocoa mix have it in them. Even worse is that you can't hardly go to a restaurant and get anything (especially deep-fried foods) that has 0 hydrogenated oils in it. Fast food is the worst, where it is very common. One of the worst types of hydrogenated oil is the soybean variety (as a general rule, anything soy is unhealthy). Soybean oil is known to hamper the thyroid, which lowers energy levels (you'll feel lethargic and would rather sit on the couch than go workout) and slows your metabolism, which are the two things that help you lose weight. The bottom line is that this little-known ingredient could be sabotaging your fat burning goals and you need to kick it out of your diet as soon as possible! Learning about little diet killers like hydrogenated oil is the key to becoming healthier and is the only way to reduce stomach fat for good. So keep it up and take small steps to reach your goals!
