Posting a job online is an excellent method to discover potential new hires. A well-written job can help you attract the best and brightest candidates. Poorly written JD (Job Description) could lead to a plethora of a low response rate or unqualified applicants to your posting. As recruiter or an HR professional, your time is valuable also it is important that the hiring process is as efficient as possible.
Here is a checklist of items for one to keep in mind as you go ahead with your next online job postings:
Benefits: : What benefits does your company offer? Unique perks, retirement, vacation, insurance packages, team building activities and specialized training are important to latent candidates.
Company Description: : Have you added a description of your firm? Does it convey the brand of your business? Based on this particular story, is your business a place you'll want to work?
Location: : Have you included state and the city? Remember people may be looking at your ad from anywhere and the internet is worldwide.
Job Title: : Make sure that the job title is clear and descriptive. For example: "Java, C++ Sr. Programmer" will get a better response than "Programmer Analyst III” in online job postings.
Responsibilities: : List day-to-day by what method the position fits the big picture and responsibilities. Remember that you will be selling the job, not just describing it. Paint list advancement opportunities and a compelling picture.
Skills: What specific skills are essential for doing the job? What skills would be helpful to have? Be precise.
Pay Range: Have you added an actual salary range for the position? Surveys of job applicants show that up to half of candidates won't apply to postings which do not provide salary information. Do not miss out on your ideal candidate.
Relevant Keywords: Have you introduced the related keywords demanded the online posting? If you don't understand them, has the hiring manager checked to make sure they're accurate? Candidates often search by keywords (tech skills), so include these in the job title, skills listing and job description to optimize your exposure.
