As a customer, I hate taking surveys. Especially, when I’m minding my own business in the grocery store, then BAM, a product marketing person, holding a clipboard, interrupts you and your family to take a long paper survey. Damn, not now. I’m trying to focus on buying and budgeting for the essential household goods. I would basically tell them to LEAVE ME ALONE.
Surprisingly, that’s NOT how I feel with online survey software and online survey. I actually enjoy the rewards of taking an online survey. It all started when I was doing my online internet shopping when the company site had a pop up stating “Get Up To Fifty Percent Off!!! YES HALF OFF!!!” Me, who is always on a budget, decided to click it and lord and behold it was a survey.
At first, it didn’t seem like one because it was very entertaining and eye catching. The online survey was like a colorful game. So I decided to play along and answer questions. In the beginning of the survey, it had a lot of “multiple choice questions”, which I prefer and are my favorites because they are short and simple. The next best question was the “open-ended question” at the end because I was able to openly express my feelings and make my suggestions to the company.
An important factor with this online survey was that it was confidential and convenient. The confidentiality was crucial because it’s not in your face like the paper surveys at the grocery stores. There it’s not discreet and out in the open and in front of all the other customers. Also, when the marketers ask you at the store, it’s at a very inconvenient time. As for the online survey, I was able to take and finish whenever I felt like it. If the question didn’t apply to me, I was able to skip.
So I really have no problems with online survey software because I entertained by its style and questioning. Plus, I liked the survey because it wasn’t interruptive and untimely. So I was able to complete the online survey without any distraction or loss of attention. Finally, after completing it, it was much more rewarding because the online company site gave me an online discount on all my purchases that day. I was able to get 50% off on some items. YES HALF OFF!!!
