You've worked hard and you're about to live out your dream: you're opening a restaurant. Inevitably, a lot of hard work and planning has gone into starting your own business, but even with the good things in life, stress is inevitable. Opening day is generally the most overwhelming day, and the good news is that things will likely get progressively easier after that. However, you want to do everything you can to reduce your stress levels on your big day. One of the things people worry about most on the opening day of a restaurant is if people will come. After all, unless you're already known around town, customers may not be aware that your doors are opening. The best way to tell people about your new venture is to advertise. Advertising comes in many forms, including write-ups, newspaper inserts, flyers and direct mailers. Of all of these options, the cheapest is flyers, so if you're watching your budget, this is definitely the way to go. The key to creating a good flyer is making sure it gets noticed. The best way to do that is to print your advertisement on paper with a bright background, such as Astrobright paper. Specialty papers such as these provide a color-saturated surface that will ensure that your message gets noticed. Distribute them by placing them on windshields, handing them out to people on the street and giving them to friends to share with people they know. Now that you've covered advertising, you can rest assured that you've done everything you can to actually get people to your restaurant on opening day. Chances are, you have the big things covered such as menu, food and staff, but there are many fine points that also need to be considered. For example, have you thought about small tablets of paper for the waitstaff to keep track of orders? Do you have a full range of condiments available for your customers? These are all things that you can take care of in advance to ensure that things are less stressful on the big day. You'll also want to think about what happens once the meal is finished. Some people finish all of their food, but many choose to take leftovers home. In that case, you'll want to invest in take out containers. You'll obviously want to have a few options available in a range of sizes, as it's wasteful to send a patron home with a small piece of steak in a large Styrofoam container. Some of the more upscale restaurants these days prefer to use clear plastic take out containers instead of opaque Styrofoam, but that choice is yours to make. After the night is over, it's time to celebrate! It's likely that you'll have some special guests at your restaurant on opening day, including investors and family and friends who have supported you through the years. In this case, it's a good idea to present these important people with some sort of gift to show your appreciation. The options are almost limitless, but giving something that's at least in some way related to food makes sense. One suggestion that most people will appreciate is a bottle or two of wine. Ideally, the wine you choose should be something that is served in your establishment and you should prepare this gift in advance in order to avoid the stress of finding a last-minute gift. It's best to use some of the stylish wine packaging options that are available instead of simply presenting bottles of wine; it simply makes a prettier presentation. Wine packaging makes it easy for people to transport bottles and can add a decorative touch to the gift. Being prepared is the best way that you can reduce stress associated with a big accomplishment like opening a restaurant. While most people cover all of the bases as far as the big aspects are concerned, it's easy to let small things slip by unnoticed. These are yet a few examples of small things you can do to ensure that things go smoothly on opening day.

Some people believe that if they work very hard, they will be able to earn a lot of money, while others think that they can earn more with the use of their intelligence. If that were in fact true, labourers would have an abundance of wealth. Moreover, if we could earn money with the use of our intelligence then the chief accountant in a firm would be wealthier than the owner themselves. In reality, money is a result of merit karma.
