For wholesale suppliers, opening a retail outlet could be very beneficial. Any wholesaler can easily open retail store and set its operations because he is a veteran in this business and has previous knowledge of supply chain management. On the other hand, a person with no prior knowledge of retail outlet opens a retail store then for sure he would have great difficulty in beginning to understand the whole supply chain management. There are many benefits for wholesaler while opening a retail outlet; some of them are discussed below.

All members in supply chain are important and have their own unique properties. If one member is removed or two members are merged together then the merged members will generate unprecedented profits as one middle man will be removed from it. They will also deliver the products to end-customers in less prices and the whole supply chain circle will be completed sooner.

If wholesalers merge themselves into retailers then they will not have to bear the hassles of keeping old inventories because they will transfer them on their retail outlets. When a product is displayed at retail outlet then sooner or later is sold out. Wholesaler will also have to bear much less transportation costs as he will directly send it to his own retail store. While on other hand, being a retailer he will not have to pay any thing while receiving products.

The biggest benefit of opening a retail outlet is that a middle-man is removed as a result the wholesaler will buy products in bulk quantity from manufacturers at low rates and directly delivers the products on his retail outlet. By doing this the wholesaler would save the profit cut of one middle man. Since the wholesalers have some margin now, they can offer discount to the customers and boost their sales. This discount offer will benefit him a lot as the cycle will complete earlier due to large repeated sales.
The wholesalers will also have no tension of credit payments to be received from the retailers and he would be in a better position to concentrate completely on his business. Meanwhile if he likes and has time, he can continue supplying goods to the retailers. So opening a retail outlet gives wholesaler great benefits in many way: his sales increase earning him high profits and his expenditures go down due to no marketing needed to expose wholesale business to different retailers.
