Organizational development is an approach to increase the viability and effectiveness of an organization. It is a concept that helps organizations adapt to new challenges, changes in attitudes, beliefs, and unforeseen market forces. It prepares organizations to better equip themselves for timely and effective response when the need arises. One cannot look at organizational development just from a point of view of things and processes that are done to better an organization or a training function of the organization. It is constant process that is designed to affect a particular kind of result. The whole idea of organizational development is to have a goal or vision in mind and then set all your organizational development activities to achieve that vision or goal. The focus of these activities should be geared towards problem solving, increasing the production (in case of factories) and better output (in case of other organizations). In fact, the term change agent or catalyst is about a leadership or a force that is leading the organization towards the path of success and growth. Further, organizational Leadership development is all about exploring, evaluating and nurturing the processes, policies, systems and subsystems for ultimate high performance. This helps businesses position their organizations in an effective manner. There are various factors that play an important role in the organizational development. One of the most important factors that can positively or negatively impacts development of an organization is Human Resources Management.
