The companies can very well use sound absorbing equipments and materials within the sound production areas, with an aim to plug and absorb the excess sound being produced. This would do a lot of good to protect the interests of the people living in the immediate neighborhood, which would also in one way boost the image of the oil and gas drilling company. If the noise pollution is not plugged and adequate steps are not taken to protect the people from the noise being produced by the heavy drilling activities, then the people could very well turn against the company, which could in turn result in protests and agitations.
