If you have any plans to travel, it’s pretty much assured that that you’ll be packing a suitcase or other travel case to take with you. Should your vacation plans include actually being clothed, then you can practice the following tips to make sure you pack everything you need.

Right before you actually put anything into your luggage; you must check what the weather’s going to be like at your trip of choice for time of year that you are visiting over there, as this will give you information about the clothes you should be preparing. If you going to a tropical country, definitely you will want to be prepared to dress for hot, sunny days and mild nights, but you might also want to pack some warmer outfits for unanticipated cooler, overcast days, or even rainy ones. Keep in mind, that wearing layers is choice for any weather, as you can add more if you get chilled, or take a layer or two off if you are overheated.

Create a List

You must plan ahead of time and organize what you will be wearing for each day that you are strolling and keep in mind that the clothes you travel in count as one of the outfits. Choosing the right pieces that you can mix and match is a smart way and ensure to add an extra pair or two of underwear or socks just in case.

Once you have prepared what you are going to wear, write it all down on a paper. As you start packing each item, cross it off your list – this assure that you won’t arrive at your destination discovering that you have forgotten to bring the most important things.
Bottoms First

Shoes and bulky items must be placed at the bottom of your luggage. If it’s a piece you’ll be packing, the heftiest things should be right next to the hinge that fastens the lid, while if it’s a baggage piece on wheels, the large bits should be right at the bottom, above the wheels.

Your shoes, boots, and packed purses are perfect spots to bring smaller items within: gloves, tuck jewelry, socks, belts, extra glasses and etc. into these to make best use of space. Once the heavy things are placed where you like them, use the space in between them for the small items such as socks, underwear, rolled-up bathing suits and etc.

Fold Them Up

In contrast to what some might think, rolling your clothes to make them fit in your luggage is not a good idea. Things that are folded lay clean and flat, against all those rolled clothes wasting space. The first layer on your shoes and such should be those of the thickest materials: jeans, jackets, woolen skirts, khakis and sweaters. As you pack, you must leave a small gap right in the center of the luggage so that you can put your toiletry bag there.

Personal Care Products

Fragile items and personal care products must be place in padded fabric case and put in the center of your luggage so they are buffered by all of your clothes. Small bottle of perfumes must be stored in a zip-able freezer bags just in case they drip: you don’t want to smell of your favorite scent the whole time you are traveling. Remember, any liquids have to be packed into travel-sized containers and kept within a clear plastic bag in your checked luggage.

The Upper Layer

The very top layer of your luggage is the lightweight, delicate materials that are susceptible to wrinkling like thin cotton, silk and satin. This is also the right place where you would pack your outfit, except if your luggage has a unique place that unzips into a garment bag and if it does have, use it instead.
