Businesses today rely mostly on their channel partners or affiliate partners to promote, sell and market their products and services. Since the global market of today has become very competitive, having the right strategies and systems implemented on your business or industry could potentially give you a significant edge on other businesses. Several successful companies have begun the practice of using computer applications and the latest technologies to get that needed advantage over their competitors. One of the most widely used application or software today would be partner portals. Partner portal are designed and created to facilitate effective communications between the parent company and all its affiliate channels and partners. The parent companies usually upload and deliver important communications like latest marketing materials, new product specifications and guides to new services being offered. The great thing about partner portals is that this application is web based; meaning any channel or partner that has an internet connection can go ahead and access this system.

1. Partner portals are very useful!! For many companies who have great success because of partner portals claim that they have had great use of this application. The common advantages they have all pointed out where the elimination or reduced use of traditional processes to convey effective communication. 2. Partner portals are difficult to manage. For those companies that had no success in implementing or using partner portals, they all point to one negative aspect and that is it is very difficult to manage and use. Without proper training or use of partner portals, this system could often lead to channel conflicts. Channel conflicts often arise as a result of poor partner portal management and use. If you are one of the few companies that had problems with partner portals chances are the software vendor that sold you this product did not give adequate training to your personnel or there were no customer support for their products. If you are on the lookout for such systems, it would be better to get it from vendors who offer product training and customer support.

3. Partner portals have increased our sales. Many of today’s businesses that have used the right type of partner portal claim that they had a steady increase in their sales, revenues and profits since the implementation of their partner portal system. Do remember the main function of a partner portal and that is to deliver all important information to all channel partners effectively and efficiently. Without this certain characteristic present on your partner portal system, your business would surely experience great difficulties in selling and promoting your products and services.

Finding the perfect partner portal solution or system is not very easy so you would need to do enough research and always check with reliable vendors about the most important needs of your company first before purchasing a system.
