Pet grooming isn't just for appearance or for the preferences of the owner – it's an essential part of maintaining the health and hygiene of your pet. Pet grooming is important on a regular basis, regardless of the type of coat or animal breed. Grooming minimizes shedding, skin problems and even bad breath for your dog or cat. During grooming, health problems that may otherwise go unnoticed can be discovered and your pet gets some much needed loving and attention. If you don't have the time to handle the grooming yourself, you can take your loved one to a pet grooming salon. Almost half of all pet owners allow their pets to live and sleep indoors. Grooming your pet regularly will go a long way to alleviate the smell and allergy factors brought in by your pet each day. Not to mention other dirt, bacteria or small insects picked up from their trips to the outdoors. A general time-frame between grooming is anywhere between 4 to 8 weeks. The length of time between groomings depends on the type and condition of your pet's coat. Many people have their pet groomed every other week or even every week if they like to maintain a clean, healthy and cuddly companion.
