It is the worst possible thing that can happen, or at least it would seem so at the time. You are on the phone, talking to someone that you are really interested in, and all of a sudden, there is a lull in the conversation. Neither of you can think of something to say, and the silence becomes deafening. Nobody wants to be in an awkward moment like that, but sometimes it seems unavoidable. When a phone chat becomes an orchestra of uncomfortable silences, you have a real problem on your hands! To avoid this situation, you need to know what to talk about in a phone chat with someone that you want to date. Of course, there are the obvious topics that are always good during a singles chat. You can ask them about their job, what they like to do for fun, their family background, and so on. However, what do you do once you have exhausted those options? Furthermore, how do you get someone who is a little bit shy to open up about themselves? Always be thinking about what to talk about next, in case things start to get too quiet. If it makes you feel better, you can even make a little list of subjects you’d like to talk about, and if your talk comes to a halt, a quick glance can give you an idea of what to ask about so that your nerves don’t get the best of you. Relax, be yourself, and you will have a great phone chat for sure.rnIn that instance, it is best to make them as comfortable as possible. Be interested in what they are saying, and make sure you add your own input without dominating the conversation or interrupting them. An already shy person will really become reserved if you don’t let them get a word in edgewise. Any good phone chat has a lot of give and take to it, so if the other person isn’t participating, you won’t have a very good time. During a singles chat, you also don’t want to be the shy person, so you need to get yourself accustomed to sharing things about yourself, too. You can do this by talking about things you are comfortable with, so the other person can get to know you better. Otherwise, they may become bored very quickly, and your first phone chat may end up being your last with that person!
