Physical therapy is a unique profession for many different reasons, but one reason stands above all the rest. That's the fact that it's one of the highest rated careers in terms of job satisfaction from actual people in the field. This is phenomenal, because it means that these people not only enjoy what they do, but also get rewarded for it in a variety of different ways. Learn more about the job satisfaction of physical therapists below.
In a 2007 study performed by the National Opinion Research Center, more than 75% of physical therapists said they were "very satisfied" with their jobs. This is huge, and it gives you amazing potential for a career. The bottom line is that if you work in physical therapy, you are exceedingly likely to enjoy your career and your work.
This is a huge number, and it helps the field to stand apart from almost every other line of work out there. In fact, it was number 2 in job satisfaction, falling second to clergymen! So unless you plan on being a man or woman of God, then physical therapy is your best route to a happy job!
But this isn't the only statistic or survey that helps to shed light on the job satisfaction of physical therapists. In November 2010, CNNMoney.com found that physical therapy was ranked as the 4th best job in the United States, out of a top 100 list. In 2009, the U.S. News and World Report also included physical therapy on its own list of the best careers.
So as you can see, physical therapists are very happy with their line of work. If you have been considering joining the field for yourself, that's certainly a strong case for why you should get started. But also, it's worth knowing why these professionals have such high levels of job satisfaction. One reason is that you get to help people and improve their lives each and every day, and that's always very rewarding.
But feeling good because you help others is only part of the reason, and we all know that money and salary comes into play for how we view our lives and our careers. Physical therapists enjoy high earning positions, and on top of that, it's relatively easy to find a job, and the field is growing very quickly right now. It all works together to help make this profession exciting, rewarding, beneficial and highly rated.
So as you can see, physical therapy is definitely unique and stands apart from other lines of work. Some jobs might have 50% job satisfaction or even worse, but more than 75% of physical therapists are very satisfied with their jobs. It's hard to go wrong with that, and with ample jobs, high paying salaries, rewarding opportunities and more, physical therapy may just be perfect for you too.
