In the Virgin Islands, romance blows on the winds, from gorgeous island to island, so when it comes to getting married, there's nowhere more perfect for the wedding of a lifetime! The U.S. Virgin Islands really make wedding planning easy-the hard part is deciding where to hold your ceremony! Each island offers its own unique charm--St. Thomas is vibrant and lively, St. John is peaceful and relaxed, and St. Croix offers a mixture of both, depending where on the island you stay. The views are stunning, the food delicious, rich history abounds, and romance is in the air--there's nowhere more beautiful than the Virgin Islands for that perfect wedding. Whether at the beach or on the patio of a beautiful villa, you won't find a more idyllic and affordable place to exchange your "I do's." Here's just a few of our favorite wedding destinations in the U.S. Islands. Magen's Bay, St Thomas, USVI Magen's Bay is located on the north end of St Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands. In 2011, Magen's Bay ranked top of National Geographic's ten best beaches of the world. This pristine natural reserve prides of a lush tropical scenery and sugar soft white sands. It's an amazing horseshoe shaped bay, and boats are kept far off short so that swimmers can enjoy the calm waters. This bay is gorgeous at both sunrise and sunset, so you've got some interesting options when it comes to choosing the time of your wedding. The bay’s topography guarantees a minimum of waves and currents, making it a perfect peaceful location for a beach wedding. Trunk Bay, St John, USVI Trunk Bay, at the north end of St John, has been consistently voted as one of the best beaches in the world by Conde Nast Traveller. This lovely bay is one of the most picturesque places in all of St. John and all over the world. The bay's vista is complete with the lush green cover of tropical forest and a mountainous terrain, white sand beaches, and clear blue waters, and a serene atmosphere perfect for a romantic sharing of vows. We recommend a sunset wedding or weekday afternoon for maximum privacy. Be sure to check the cruise ship schedule so you can pick a day where tourists are a minimum! Davis Bay Beach, St. Croix, USVI On the northwest side of St Croix, you'll find the rustic and less crowded Davis Bay Beach. The seclusion that the beach offers is perfect for your dream romantic and peaceful beach wedding. The view here is stunning, with emerald peaks rising from pearly white sand and clear turquoise waters. The best thing about a having a wedding in the USVI is that the paperwork is simple and stress free. You just send your documentation to arrive 8 days prior to the wedding date and you can have your license issued by the Superior court before the ceremony. Also, sharing of vows in the U.S. Virgin Islands is recognized by the Government of the United States since its a U.S. territory. We recommend checking into one of the many wedding planners on island to make your wedding stress free and economical. They'll help you with every detail, from travel plans to licenses to venues and even your honeymoon--which is the best part--you're already here! It's an easy trip from any major airport off the east coast--just a 2.5 hour flight from Miami, and passports are not required.
