Have you ever watched a puppy play? Their energy is nonstop. Or, what about a child out on the playground. They go and go and go.

One of the greatest benefits for those who go from the SAD – Standard American Diet – to a 100% WFPB – whole food, plant based – diet is ENERGY. Boundless energy.

Amazingly, some people don’t even realize how much their energy changes because it suddenly feels so right.

When you go from a calorie dense diet to a nutrient dense diet, things are going to change … a LOT.

Not only do you have more energy, you minimize your risks for diseases that have become commonplace such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, some cancers, obesity and more.

With the added energy, you tend to want to move more equating to more exercise. When you exercise, you tend to be happier.

Benefits of WFPB Nutrient-Rich Diet

A WFPB diet is filled with nutrients. The SAD diet is void of nutrients. One of the greatest benefits of switching is energy.

When you switch from SAD to WFPB you flood your body with massive nutrients thereby experiencing amazing changes to your energy.

More frequent, and consistent, bowel movements is yet another benefit of a WFBP diet. http://plantbasedeatingforhealth.com/2019/11/05/day-five-poop-your-way-to-health-on-a-plant-based-diet/

Better moods are yet another byproduct. The reason for better moods is the ability to exercise that may have been nonexistent on the SAD diet.

Minimizing or reversing inflammation is another benefit. I began eating plant based due to increased inflammation. I was dealing with a great deal of pain and from all I read, watched and listened to, going plant based would help. Little did I realize how much it would help.

The pain caused by inflammation was restricting my ability to move my right hand without experiencing intense page. In a nutshell, inflammation hurts and limits mobility.

Within a couple of days, my inflammation was gone. I was not only shocked; I was over the moon excited.

Without inflammation, I was able to move more. I could get back into more frequent exercise without the pain I had been experiencing.

Exercise

I love to exercise. Yes, LOVE exercise. I have such an appreciation for what my body can do at the age of 65.

I run, weight train, hike, bike, kayak, do yoga and spin. These are just a few of the activities I enjoy. My goal is to enjoy these types of activities as much as possible as long as I possibly can.

At one point in my life, I was a bona-fide couch potato. I drank and ate to access. The greatest movement I had was grabbing another drink and fattening food to stuff in my mouth.

It’s been 36 years since I drank, but it took a heck of a lot longer to get into the healthiest eating protocol of my life. I started a plant-based eating protocol when I was 64 (September 16, 2018). I document my first three months in my FREE ebook, Beginner’s Guide To Plant Based Eating. Get your own copy at http://www.plantbasedeatingforhealth.com/guide

Until then, I likely tried every diet known to man (and woman). You name it, I tried it. The problem with diets is that I had only one goal in mind; drop weight. I didn’t see the diet as a long-term solution.

With plant-based eating, this is a lifestyle choice. One that gives me the energy to live fully. Additionally, I don’t consider this a diet even though my excess weight literally melted off my body.

Increase Activity Gradually

If it’s been a while since you’ve exercised, start with something that is not going to injure you. You can’t expect to go from being a couch potato to running a marathon in 30 days. It’s not reasonable, safe or healthy.

Rather, start with a walk around the block. From there, increase your activity every few days. Before you know it, your body will crave movement. You may be shocked at what’s to come. And they only way to find out, is to give it a 100% commitment.
