Plastering courses could come in handy for Exeter project

The impending refurbishment of an iconic building in Exeter could ensure that workers who have taken plastering courses find themselves in demand from local employers. According to the Express & Echo, the former Debenhams department store - which closed three years ago when the company moved premises - will be transformed into a state-of-the-art retail centre after the local authority approved plans. "I am really thrilled by this - I think this is the beginning of a new retail trading era for that side of our main shopping street. It will bring a bit more footfall of buyers to Sidwell Street," said local councillor Peter Wadham. Exeter City Council gave the green light to the proposals, but insisted a nearby car park on neighbouring King William Street should also be refurbished as part of the scheme.
