Plastic surgery is often synonymous with breast implants and liposuction and therefore usually thought as what women do to enhance how they look. However, men should not dismiss the potential benefits of plastic surgery and if they are keen to alter how they look or combat the toll of aging, there are plastic surgery options out there that men might want to think about. Some men may even discover that there are plastic surgery options that are specifically geared to the less gentle gender. Males, especially in their teens, have the potential to develop a condition known as gynecomastia, or breast tissue development. Basically, excess fat and tissue build up in the pectorla region can cause a man to appear as if he has developed breasts. This can happen to a man even if he is in good physical shape, and is rather distressing for all men, but especially for teenage boys. While it is encouraged that other means of treatment be sought before a man who has gynecomastia seek out plastic surgery procedures, there are situations when a type of breast reduction via surgery may be the only viable and long-lasting solution. For a male who suffers from this condition and has not found a remedy with non surgical treatments, this is a cosmetic surgery that can significantly bolster a man's body image. Liposuction is another type of more cosmetic plastic surgery that is commonly only associated with women. Surprisingly, more and more men are also opting for a liposuction procedure, but rarely one that addresses trouble areas around the the thighs. Rather, men are more likely to find a need for chin liposuction - a type of plastic surgery that eliminates the look of a double chin by targeting excess fat under the chin, a place that tends to be more of a problem area for men. This plastic surgery procedure creates a small incision just under the chin through which the excess fat can be suctioned, leaving a man with a more GQ-esque sturdy, chiseled jaw line. Another plastic surgery that many surgeons find popular among men is rhinoplasty, otherwise known as the nose job. Many men end up in the plastic surgeons' office for a nose job as a result of one or multiple sports injuries. A football tackle gone awry can actually be a good excuse for a man who has never liked the shape or look of his nose, and can now cite a "manly" reason to undergo a cosmetic procedure to alter the shape and size. Along the lines of a rhinoplasty procedure following a broken nose, reconstructive surgery is another reason a man may want to seek out a plastic surgery. There are hundreds of injuries that can leave a person disfigured and plastic surgeons have made significant technological advancements to restore the look of a person's face or other through cosmetic procedures. As you can see, while plastic surgery may seem like it's just about breast enhancement or boob jobs, and it's especially all about women - breast implants are really just one of the many procedures a plastic surgeon can perform, and a man who has suffered either a broken nose or more serious injury or uncomfortable appearance condition, or a man who simply wants to a lift to his face, can also benefit from plastic surgery and should seek out a plastic surgeon to talk over his concerns.
