HTML5 is known to display jazzed-up images and mind-blowing effects that immediately react to users' actions. The standard is responsive and best suited for game-like interactivity without having to install additional software. Developers utilize HTML5 for better smartphone support, for mobile tablets and PCs. One can use HTML5 for tailoring apps to make it suitable for mobile commerce.
All alternative technologies are nearly swept aside from HTML5 nowadays. Even rival Flash format was opposed by Mr. Steve Jobs especially for mobile devices. HTML5 is said to be a major step forward. Silicon Valley investor, Roger McNamee, is predicting the future where HTML5 will lure artists, media companies and miscellaneous advertisers to differentiate in their particular offerings and bring about drastic diversity like never before.
Many companies are also betting on HTML5 and its popularity in the near future. Legendary "Angry Birds" creator Rovio Entertainment will now launch HTML5 avian projectiles at enemy pigs without having the need for a standalone app. Publications including Playboy and Sports Illustrated now prefer to use HTML5 for displaying online content.
This trend has largely been instigated by Apple, Google Inc. and their common competitor Microsoft Corp, who are simultaneously building HTML5 support for the latest versions of their typical Web browsers.
Almost 34% of the popular websites in the world are now using HTML5 which implies the excitement of using the standard is palpable. It does have key features and have notably differentiating features compared to sites which use Flash.
Flash is still a huge web technology which was pre-browser friendly since it run on so called plug-ins. The main reason why Jobs was not keen on using Flash for iPhones and iPads was because he expected the web technology to fail.
Recently, Pandora Media opted for HTML5 from Adobe's Flash which helps the site load faster. Apple didn’t allow for dependency on Adobe for various technologies. Videos or graphics according to the standard shall render accurately.
Google has though continued support for Flash in its browsers. Developers want to create multi-platform web apps which are compatible for using in one of the two platforms: Android and iOS.
The perfect web experience can be promised with the use of HTML5 standard. The standard stands for multiple techniques which can handle diverse elements like typography, graphics and video, and achieve some believability in it.
HTML5 applications do not resemble websites and is important as a standard for mobile apps although ads on mobiles are a rich source of revenue too. Flash based games are available in popular titles.
Interest in the standard was evident from the outset especially from game developers who got to see the pre-launch version and used it too. HTML5 games might lack the overall graphics and quick action of PC, one can play HTML5-based free social games on the net without having to attract people.
Users' time is what everyone is competing for. So it is necessary to think like the user and look for devices which can support the latest standard. This works in theory at least, many analysts believe that tailoring apps for good devices is a temporary ploy. Those supporting the standard are expected to enjoy good display of almost any content.
