To get a TIN in Portugal, you will need proof of residence (e.g. a utility bill or rental agreement), your certificate of residence or your visa, and your passport. Register as a Portugal resident tax After receiving your TIN, you'll need to register as a Portugal resident taxpayer. Apply for your NHR status If you are applying for the NHR yourself, the easiest route is online through the government finance portal. To be able to use the online service, you must first register on the website. You will need your TIN, your tax address, your e-mail address, and your telephone number. These should be the same details that you originally used to register for your TIN. You will also be asked to ask a secret question and answer. After registration, you will receive a password by email. The arrival should take a maximum of two weeks. When your password reaches you, you can connect to the finanças portal and register your application for the RNH program. To complete your application, you must submit the following documents: a.
