Let us talk about the benefits of positive weight loss affirmations for those in need of improvement in this area of their lives. We all know that weight loss is just as much, if not more, psychological as it is physical. Although some do have physiological reasons for their weight problems, most of us get ourselves into these situations by an inability to control our cravings or portions, an unhealthy diet, a lack of motivation to exercise or other decisions that we make. This is why we need to lose weight the same way we gain it – by what we tell ourselves. When we choose to overeat or not exercise, we are justifying it somehow in our minds. In other words, our behavior is a result of something that we tell ourselves that makes it okay. To reverse this we need to tell ourselves just the opposite, and this is where affirmations come in. Affirmations are little phrases that we tell ourselves as encouragement to go in a positive direction, whether related to weight loss or something else. The key is to choose small and simple phrases that you can repeat to yourself throughout the day whenever you feel tempted. You can make up your own positive weight loss affirmations, or you can research them and use some that others have used specifically for weight loss. It is best to use specific affirmations that relate to weight loss. The vaguer the phrase the less likely you are to pay attention to it. For example, phrases like, “I can do this” may be helpful, but we all know we should say those things to ourselves and others all the time, but this still does not help us to put down the donut or go jogging. Experts recommend tailoring your affirmation phrases to specifically relate to what you are trying to accomplish. Remind yourself of your goals by saying something like, “I’ll be even thinner tomorrow.” Research shows that we respond best when we have specific goals in mind and specific plans to achieve them. Telling yourself that you will be even thinner tomorrow if you make the right choice will encourage you by reminding you of something tangible. You may not actually have a measurable weight loss, but the point is to remind yourself that every day counts. A similar option is to tell yourself something like, “I’ve gotten this far. I can keep going.” The problem many have with weight loss is that the results are not immediate enough, so they feel that there is no measurable change. This makes them lose motivation and think that one more ice cream cone won’t have an impact. For this reason, it is also a good idea to remind yourself of the health benefits of eating healthily and exercising. Tell yourself something like, “What I choose today will make a difference.” These types of affirmations will remind you that, whether actually visible or not, every single thing you put in your body does matter, and every single time you exercise will have an impact on your future. Try telling yourself something like, “Today, I will choose to be healthier than I was yesterday.” Weight loss is one behavior that is very influenced by the feedback we get from others and from ourselves. We can often be our own worst critics, but we also have the power to influence ourselves positively if we know how to do so. Just as with weight loss it is our responsibility to take the time to research and repeat these positive weight loss affirmations to ourselves and to take them to heart. rnClick Here : http://www.selfimprovement4success.com
