Prayer is thought; more specifically, it is focused, intentional thought based on a desire – to be, do, have, or change something or some experience. All thoughts create some sort of emotional response; some people call this emotional excitation, “vibrations,” or “vibes.” You can be giving-off “good vibes,” or “bad vibes,” depending on the nature of your thoughts and feelings. It is important to understand how your thoughts – prayers and otherwise – are creating your vibratory state because it is your vibratory state that determines you experience by attracting, or tuning-you-in-to, certain situations and conditions.

Essentially, the idea of prayer is to effectively deliver the message you want to deliver so that you have the best chance of best experiencing the best possible variation of whatever outcome you hoped to achieve by praying. There are some ways of thinking that are more effective than other ways; subsequently, there are some ways of delivering your prayers that are “more effective” than others at creating the experience or outcome you’re hoping, wishing, dreaming, or praying for. For the record, memorizing and repeating phrases and verses that have little or no context or meaning for you and only serve to help you fit-in with others who are doing the same. If you want your prayers answered you need to be thinking about what you want; and you need to be thinking about how you’re thinking.

There are three-important things to consider about prayer, or “thoughts you really want to have some effect on your reality;” those three considerations are:

1. What are you spending your time thinking about; and, are you giving the bulk of your time to the thoughts and things that are most important to you? (There is only so much time in a day; and each thought is a brush-stroke on your experience. If you spend your time not-painting, or not painting what you want, your experience simply won’t include those things you want.)

2. Are you spending your time thinking about, “What you want,” or, “What you don’t want, or don’t like?” In other words, are you thinking, “Positively,” or, “Negatively,” about the things you want? Are you asking for something to be “created,” or “destroyed?” (If you think “negatively,” or with a focus on the things you don’t favor, then your focus – and thus your thoughts – will always be drawn to thinking about – and creating – those things you don’t like.)

3. How do you feel when you pray, or think about the things you want? Do you feel uplifted and enthusiastic, or frustrated, doubtful, skeptical, cynical, pessimistic, etc…? (If you thoughts and feelings are not synchronized, you will remain “stuck.” You must imagine the things you want as if you truly want them and you are happy and excited that you’ve received them. It seems like acting, or maybe even lying, but this is the secret to having your prayers answered – mastering your emotional state by mastering your thoughts.)

Don’t worry about these things; but consider that if you think about what you want rather than what you don’t want, and you think about it in such a way that it makes you happy and excited, and you spend more of your time in this positive mental state of expectancy, then you’ll be inspired to move toward the answer to your prayers, as those things that are most harmonic with you are drawn nearer and nearer. Do these things, and act when you feel inspired to do so; and your life will soon take on a whole new look.
