Mobile technology is now being used by almost every user. Majority of mobile users nowadays use smartphones that have Internet connection with decent connection speed.Since most users now prefer browsing the Internet from their mobiles, desktop computers and laptop PCs are getting obsolete day-by-day. Because of the wider screens of the smartphones, browsing the Internet has become quite easier and comfortable as compared to browsing through a laptop computer or a desktop PC because of their sizes and non-portability. Today, most shopping is done via mobile. Mobile shopping is far more simpler as compared to shopping through laptop PCs or desktop computers as users who shop online via their mobile phones do not have to carry heavy laptops or require power supply and active Wi-Fi or wired Internet connection to purchase products online. On the contrary, they can use the Internet that their mobile networks provide. In order to make online shopping through mobile simpler and more productive, it becomes essential for the business organizations to develop a mobile friendly website that displays clearer images and navigation tools on mobile phones of all brands, while providing foolproof security at the same time. Points that business organizations must consider while developing mobile oriented e-commerce websites are: • Visibility – Many organizations do not consider developing separate mobile friendly websites and let their normal websites to be used on smartphones. Although this practice doesn't harm the business much, preparing mobile friendly websites can remarkably increase their businesses as such websites provide clear visibility that further helps the prospective clients to navigate through various products that the website has to offer. • Navigation – Navigation can be made easier on mobile friendly websites by adding various links to access other areas of the sites, e.g. Contact, Services, Home, etc. With the help of mobile friendly navigation options, the web pages that are displayed on the mobile screens become easy to interact with, hence remarkably increasing organizations’ businesses. • Service Availability – Many mobile users might want to interact with the representatives of the websites. If the web page of the site is mobile friendly, Contact Now, Online Chat, etc. options can be accessed easily by the prospective clients, which can increase businesses of the organizations. • Security – One of the major aspects while dealing with any transaction (in real or online) is the security. When users shop online, it becomes the duty of the sellers to maintain the security of sensitive information that is provided by the users while paying for the purchased products. In order to maintain security and assure users that the security measures are foolproof, sellers must purchase and configure appropriate certificate settings. It is strongly recommended that the certificates must be purchased from a trusted third-party certificate authority such as VeriSign. Configuring certificates ensures that the transfer of sensitive information between the seller and the buyer is encrypted and cannot be misused whatsoever. Once all above discussed major points are considered and are taken care of while designing a mobile oriented e-commerce site, the organization must test them and ensure security and efficiency of the website before making it available for public.
