Everyone knows sleeping is extremely important, nevertheless it’s among the initial items we take off our ‘to do’ list. You need to re-think making sleep a priority as it has effects on so many aspects in your life. Furthermore you want to provide a great example for your children. A child getting the right amount of sleep is essential for healthy growth. So let’s take a look at why it is essential for you to sleep adequately. Not sleeping enough can cause you to put on pounds. So if you haven’t been getting enough sleep recently that may be the reason why you might have put on those extra inches. UCLA researchers have found that not getting enough sleep lowers nighttime levels of ghrelin, which isa hormone involved with appetite control. These levels can rebound during the day, which means you can be hungrier. Getting more sleep is the simplest diet program I've ever came across. Mothers seem to be superhuman; the amount of things they manage and take care of every day is mind boggling. But I have a news flash, mothers are human beings and they must get the proper amount of sleep every day. It is the only way to maintain the amount of activity every day is to get enough sleep every night. When you don’t get enough sleep you get that fuzzy head feeling, which is actually protein build up from not getting enough sleep. As a parent one of your main priorities is to keep your children healthy. You feed them good food that nourishes their bodies, keep them safe with car seats, bike helmets, and knees pads. So you would never purposely do something that could cause them to become overweight and cause health issues. Yet that is exactly what you are doing if you are not allowing your child to get enough sleep. A Harvard Medical study found that toddlers who slept under a dozen hours each day were two times as likely to be overweight by age three. Our children become busy, because we're busy. It's essential that we find a way to ensure they get enough sleep each night. The lives of children are busy today. Wheather we have to wake them up for school or get them off to preschool so we can work; there is absolutely no questioning they lead very busy lives. Children spend all day learning, especially babies. So it is so important that we make it possible for children of all ages to get the correct amount of sleep each night. Children learn so much more when they have the appropriate amount of sleep. They also feel less stress because it is easier to learn when they are well rested. If your children aren't getting enough sleep throughout the week, then permit them to sleep in on the weekends. A Hong Kong study showed that getting extra sleep on the weekends helps counteract the lack of sleep throughout the week. Kids are going to be kids; there is no getting around that. Every child will almost certainly have their share of bumps and bruises, but you can minimize these occurrences by making sure your child gets enough rest. Well rested children are able to think more clearly and steer clear of making careless mistakes which bring about injury. So for both children and adults it is important that we get enough sleep each and every night. Parents should lead by example when it comes to getting enough sleep. Begin tonight in making sure everyone within your household gets the sleep they require.
