Popularly described as the Land like no other, Ladakh is one of the most sought after and interesting regions of Indian states of Jammu & Kashmir. It is the largest of the ten provinces of the state. There are two administrative districts – Leh and Kargil. Leh is considered as to be the capital of Ladakh.

Leh is the most visited tourist destination in the regions because most tourist places are located in and around this city. There are many Buddhist monasteries & gompas in and around the town of Leh. Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, Namgyal Tsemo Gompa, Hemis Monastery, Thiksey Monastery, Alchi Monastery, Likir Gompa, Lamayuru Gompa, Sankar Gompa, etc are prominent tourist places in Leh & Ladakh. Monastery, Alchi Monastery, Likir Gompa, Lamayuru Gompa, Sankar Gompa, etc are prominent tourist places in Leh & Ladakh.

Hemis Monastery, the largest Gompa in Ladakh region, is world wide famous for the huge paintings of Lord Buddha which is showcased once in 11 years to the public. The Shey Gompa is known for huge collection of gold plated copper statue of Lord Buddha while the Thiksey Monastery is worldwide famous for its stunning architecture. You will have a brilliant opportunity to know Buddhist culture & tradition after exploring famous monasteries and gompas of Ladakh.

Apart from cultural and historical sites, Ladakh has many more to offer its visitors. There are many interesting trekking trails and sites for adventure activities. Mountaineering, trekking, hiking, mountain biking, ice-trekking, boat cruise, river rafting, wildlife expedition, and jeep safari in Ladakh attract adventure enthusiasts from all over the world.
