Pregnancy, what a joy it is. Once a woman finds out that she’s pregnant, emotions start to explode; happiness, joy, love, amazement, and many other wonderful emotions that are too numerous to mention here. But pregnancy can also stir up many negative and fearful emotions such as anxiety, fear; to include financial fears, fears of knowing what to do, whether you can actually be a good mother; or if you already have children, how that will impact your family now; whether you can handle having more than one child, and just fear of the pregnancy process in and of itself; hoping that your baby is healthy, that there will be no complications, and of course including the fear of the actual delivery process itself, and many, many other emotions that can stir up in a woman finding out that she is pregnant. What these emotions lead to is pregnancy stress.
Take these emotions that a woman has to go through and add on to that the stress of careers, household responsibilities, responsibilities for other children, fighting traffic, relationship issues. Another factor is the doctor visits themselves are a scary time, especially towards the beginning, having to have tests to know whether or not your babies have certain diseases, complications, problems, etc. The list could just go on and on. Well, if you’re feeling any of these stressful effects, it’s time to just stop and breathe. This is a time for you to completely focus on you. It’s time to delegate as many responsibilities to other people as you can, because the importance right now and for the next nine months is you and your baby/babies - (I add babies here because you could potentially be pregnant with twins).
You need to focus on pampering yourself. Along with proper pregnancy nutrition and exercise, regular checkups, deep relaxation and meditation plays a necessary and vital part in a stress-free and healthy pregnancy. With only 15 to 30 minutes a day of regular deep relaxation and meditation, you can help to decrease the chances of complications during your pregnancy; and especially if you are considered a high-risk pregnancy. There are many guided pregnancy meditatio
Cds available in stores or online. You can also choose to use some soft music of your liking, but make sure you are using the proper breathing techniques, it is one of the most important factors in getting yourself into this deep relaxed state.
So, remember, pamper yourself, take time out each day to relax and just feel good because “The Body IS the Servant of the Mind.”
