Introduction There are certain symptoms of pregnancy that a woman should be aware of. If these pregnancy symptoms continue for 4 days or more then the chances are that you are pregnant. It is best to consult a doctor if these symptoms persist after taking a basic pregnancy test. Let us have a look at some of the most common pregnancy symptoms. Missed Periods The first sign could be a missed period. Normally a woman gets her period on a date of the month that coincides with last month’s date. If the woman does not get her period within a week from the due date then she should take a pregnancy test. In case she is pregnant then it is great news but if she is not pregnant then she should consult a doctor and seek his advice. Heaviness in Stomach Sometimes a woman just feels like she is pregnant. She feels heavy in the stomach area most of the time and she feels like she is putting on weight. Even the breasts may begin to get firmer and become sore. They may seem bigger in size. There could be a possible flow of Colostrum from the breasts. The abdomen area will appear bigger as each day passes. Tiredness The other pregnancy symptom is tiredness and sleepiness. Pregnant women feel tired after doing little work. They feel lazy as well and they prefer to sleep more than usual. There could be changes in libido as well. Vomiting Vomiting and nausea are one of the most common pregnancy symptoms. A woman may normally experience these symptoms after she has eaten food or just woken up. She might also experience frequent urination. This is because the body starts excreting the waste of the unbo child as well. A pregnant woman also has strong cravings for food. She feels hungrier day by day as the baby totally depends on its mother for food till it is born. Changes in skin There are changes in the skin as well. It begins to develop stretch marks and becomes irritable. This is the symptom of the various hormonal changes that the woman experiences during pregnancy. The uterus becomes enlarged as it stretches because of the growth of the unbo child. Movement in stomach When the child begins to grow inside the womb there could be a possible movement feeling from inside. This is because the child is moving its arms or legs and responding to certain stimuli when it grows. A mother carrying twins or triplets will feel more movement as the babies inside scramble for space. Normally twins and triplets have born premature as there is no space left in the womb. A woman who is pregnant may also have a probable change in the shape of the uterine. She may experience sudden contractions in the abdomen area.
