You tend to get bigger and bigger and of course you feel bad about it because you feel fat and unattractive. Although it is difficult, there are ways to control your pregnancy weight gain to avoid being overweight while pregnant. Gaining too much weight will increase your risk for pregnancy complications like pre-eclampsia or high blood during pregnancy. You also have the tendency to retain the excessive weight after delivery which can be very frustrating and depressing. For a woman with normal weight and height, the recommended weight gain throughout the pregnancy is between 25-35 pounds. Unfortunately, most women gain more than the required and go through their pregnancy overweight and feeling miserable with their appearance. To be healthy and look good while pregnant you have to know how to control your pregnancy weight gain. Keep active. Most pregnant women tend to become sedentary due to the physical aches and pains brought by pregnancy. Although it is really difficult to get off the couch and be more active, it is important for pregnant women to stay active to stay fit and healthy. Exercise or physical activities are also essential if you want to control your pregnancy weight gain. Avoid mindless eating. Food craving is normal for pregnant women but to control your pregnancy weight gain you have to watch what you eat and avoid mindless eating. Although you need to gain weight, you have to get the extra weight from nutritious foods for the nutritional needs of your baby that is why you need to mind what you eat. Avoid junk foods, fast foods, cut down on sweets and watch your calorie intake. Consult your doctor. It is necessary to seek the advice of your doctor regarding your weight gain. With the help of your doctor you can monitor and control your pregnancy weight gain. Your doctor may also recommend the best diet and physical activities for your condition. It is a struggle for most women to look good while pregnant but you do not have to go through pregnancy feeling miserable.
