Validating Prescription According to the law certain details are mandatory for a handout to be called as prescription. Apart from the normal things like date, name of the drug, patients name, address and instruction of intake, one major thing that a prescription must carry is physician’s or prescriber’s signature. For a handout to be called a prescription signature of the physician is vital. No Pharmacy can call the handout as prescription or provide a drug to the patient unless he has some kind of consent from the prescriber or the physician. In case of electronic copy, it must as well contain the name and the contact details of the physician. Merit of a Prescription Most of us are unaware about the appropriate information for the drugs. Though we know about the names of some medicines, we have totally no idea about the effects and reactions of the drugs. The combination of two drugs might be allergic to some while effective to others. It is said that self prescribing a drug is like playing with life. Also even if a death occurs due to a drug prescribed by the doctor, the doctor can be arrested. Thus prescription is highly important while purchasing any kind of medicine, pharmacists demand for it and is considered as one of the safest method to remain healthy.
