Presentation Skill Training - Pitching Is Actually Public Speaking

“It was a drizzling afte oon on 19 Dec 2011, at the Malaysian Highway, I was driving at about 100km and at the bend, suddenly I saw a MPV at a fast speed driving toward me; in front of my naked eyes, I saw it was coming and I could not do anything.If I sway I would end up down the slope and If I sway the other direction, I would cut into the path of oncoming vehicles. In split seconds, bang. Our vehicles collided head on. My heart stopped for a second. I was alive. I yelled out: “everyone alright. Then a loud voice replied “ Yes”. I gave a sign of relief. All four of us escaped unscathed. Thank God. This was due to the Seat Belt. The seat belts saved our lives. What happened to the other vehicle? The inflated balloon saved the driver’s life too. All of us were unhurt. Follow instruction while in the car, belt up immediately when you are in the car; including the passengers. Do not underestimate the power of seat belt. Seat belt is about safety and seat belt saves lives.”

This two minutes pitch about the seat belt is enough to showcase the power of seat belt. In another version, you can apply one minute to pitch about yourself.

Pitching is public speaking. You are speaking to a group of people and want to touch their hearts and heads. You have limited time to do it. Thus, you have to prepare well and make it like KISS. Keep it short and sweet.

In life, there is no such thing as public speaking for so and so. Public speaking is for everyone. Public speaking is a skill for all season. A good speaker can open door and secure sells. A good speaker can persuade and inspire people. A good speaker is a speaker of all season.
