So, did you know the answer to the questio
I asked last week?
The tree in Hiroshima that withstood the almighty blast of the atom bomb was the 'miraculous' Ginkgo Biloba tree.
Along with a few hundred other readers, Mrs Danno, who lives and works in Tokyo answered the question correctly, but she also went on to tell me two fascinating stories.
In the early 50's there was still a strong American presence in Japan. A U.S army colonel noticed that he was developing problems with his memory. Fearing he was in the early stages of dementia and distraught at the thought at being 'released' from duty, he decided to take the advice of his young Japanese driver and visited a local herbalist.
The herbalist told him that the first step was to stop the deterioration in the brain so he prescribed a high dosage of Ginkgo Biloba. Within a week, he felt an improvement and with continued moderate dosage over the following months, his memory and mental ability improved greatly. Later, the colonel described it as having the mind of a 21 year old again!
He went on to complete his tour of duty and remained in the army until he retired at the age of seventy. He spent his last 10 years of service teaching navigation to young officers.
This is just one of the reasons why the Ginkgo tree is often referred to as the 'King' of the natural healing world - but there are over 800 other ‘clinically proven’ reasons why this natural extract is regarded by some as the single most important herbal discovery this century.
Over the last 30 years, these studies have categorically proven that Ginkgo Biloba is not only good for your brain, but also your heart, circulation and dozens of other ailments! Here’s just a few of the PROVEN health benefits of Gingko Biloba;
• Stroke – Ginkgo stimulates circulation and provides maximum oxygen to the brain
• Heart Attack - Good for blood flow into the heart muscle
• Cholesterol -It keeps the bad cholesterol 'LDL' from clogging up the arteries, which keeps the arteries wide open for maximum blood flow
• Impotence and low libido – Improved circulation leads to a better sex life
• Retinal degeneration – Increased blood flow to the retina and its capillaries
• Age Related Deafness – Also due to poor circulation. Ginkgo Biloba will reduce the risk.
• Asthma and Bronchitis – Ginkgo Biloba has been used for over 1000 years in Japan to treat these conditions effectively
• High Blood Pressure – Will be reduced and more stable with Ginkgo Biloba.
A recent listing on Oxford University’s medical web site, Bandolier, reviewed 40 separate clinical trials on Gingko Biloba. It concluded the following: ‘virtually all the studies produced positive results for Gingko extract taken at 120mg a day for 4-6 weeks and, after that, a moderate daily dose will be sufficient to maintain and improve mental agility’. Trust me when I tell you that this is a serious endorsement!
So, concentration, memory problems, depression, fatigue, strokes and a whole host of other problems connected with the mind can be prevented and treated with the potent Ginkgo Biloba extract
That’s why it is now an essential supplement for anyone over the age of 40. The comedian and singer, Brian Conley (the star of 'Jolson'), recently stated on 'The Wright Stuff' TV programme that he now takes it on a daily basis that both mentally and physically he's never felt better! He’s just one of a whole host of well know celebrities who take Gingko Biloba on a regular basis.

In 1965, a local amateur kick boxer from Tokyo received a vicious kick to the head which put him in a coma. Fortunately, he came out of the coma after two days but the doctors feared he would suffer permanent brain damage.
Mrs Danno was one of the trauma nurses taking care of him and she suggested Ginkgo Biloba to help restore a strong and healthy circulation of blood and oxygen to his brain. They began daily doses of Ginkgo extract and within a month he was reading and writing again, could walk unaided and had regained his speech, although a little slurred. With continued treatment over the next 12 months he completely recovered all his mental and physical function.
Thank you Mrs Danno for sharing these amazing stories with us.
The brain is a fascinating subject and I could continue writing for weeks but it’s now time to move on. Before I do, please remember that the brain is your 'Commander in Chief' and must be looked after and maintained on a daily basis, especially if you are over 40.
I’ve recommended certain foods, mental agility exercises, food supplements, books and websites but if there is one thing you need to do on a daily basis – you must take Ginkgo Biloba. It’s easy to get hold of, has no known side effects, it has been proven again and again in hundreds of clinical studies and best of all, it’s100% natural so it can’t be ‘kidnapped’ by one of the big drug companies.
Click the link below and it will take you to a very good source of Ginkgo Biloba – http://www.ginkgobilobacapsules.co.uknnNext week I'll make a start on hearing. I’ve been looking forward to covering this subject as I think my hearing has started to fail. Over the last few months Maria has noticed that she has to repeat almost everything she asks me.
She thinks it’s ‘selective hearing’ but I genuinely have to stop what I am doing and face her so that I can hear what she has to say. She also reminds me about a dozen times a day that I have the radio or TV on too loud.
I have some great practical solutions that I use and can vastly improve your hearing So, if you have any conce
s about hearing either for yourself or a loved one then please tune in.
And now for your homework! What is the exte
al flap of skin tissue of the ear (the bit we can see and touch) officially called? I'll have the answer next week!
Keep smiling and stay healthynnhttp://www.jr2.ox.ac.uk/bandolier/band18/b18-3.html

How Budder Retains Terpenes Better Than Other Concentrates
