Have you ever had dreams that startle you awake? You sit up alert wondering “Did this really happen? Is it going to”? Did you note a marked difference from the other dreams you have; the ones in which you seem to be dealing with things that have recently been on your mind?

People ask how you know and what you do, when you have an out of ordinary dream experience. In upcoming blogs I will share some more extraordinary examples of psychic dreams and ordinary ones so you can compare. Hopefully these will act as reference guides. And let’s explore ways to respond to them together.

Sometimes psychic information is delivered to us through our dreams. I know people who have had premonition dreams; dreams that forecast an event which occurs in the future, and clairvoyant dreams which the dreamer has while the event is unfolding somewhere else in the world in real time. My friend and her sister often had collective dreams when they were children, dreaming the same thing on the same night! Some dreams are telepathic; where in story form, you receive someone’s thoughts and feelings. One of my amazing dreams was a psychic knowledge type dream. These are dreams that provide information you’ve never consciously been introduced to or learned. You can read more about my unusual dreams. Search here under the “dreams” category.

Here are two different dreams. As you read through them what differences do you notice?

Many years ago I did some professional training with a wonderful woman. She was down to earth, funny, and a wonderful teacher. I definitely felt a personal connection to her, but in a group of one hundred and fifty or more people there’s not much opportunity to develop a familiar yet professional working relationship. You are one amiable face in a crowd of many. Months after completing this intensive work I had a dream about her.

She was walking uphill on a long, winding, rugged road. She looked distraught. I also noted that she was sporting a new chic short hairstyle. I joined her walking. We were talking but I couldn’t make out what we were saying. I just knew she was upset.

I woke up with a strong urge to call her but I didn’t feel it was appropriate. I didn't feel she was in danger. I believe I might have phoned if I sensed there was danger. Please do the same if you wake from a dream sensing there is danger.

I decided to write her a note in a Christmas card. It was the season. She wrote me back in no time. She told me that she had indeed cut her hair short, and said that she had just separated from her husband. He was having an affair with another woman and asked for a divorce…which indeed was heartbreaking…

The content of this dream was clean, simple, and direct. I woke feeling compelled to make contact. I knew without know what or why, that something was wrong. This is how I feel when I have an intuition during the day. Remember... intuitive and instinctive signals don’t make distinctions between night and day. They are on alert 24/7

Here’s the second dream…

I was driving my son’s car. The car was older and more banged up than it really is. It started to accelerate and within seconds I realized it was running on its own accord. I had no control over it! Somehow I was able to maneuver it off to the side to the shoulder of the road, where it coasted to a stop. As I opened the door to get out, I looked down and realized that the car had no steering wheel! …

This dream is obviously filled with symbolism. Perhaps it comes as no surprise that I was dazed waking from this dream.

In my experience how you feel when you wake from a dream, and how direct or indirect the dream message presents itself, are two key factors in identifying psychic dreams.

Did you have some insights into my symbolic dream? Here’s my interpretation.

My son is going off to college in six months. His car is symbolic of the travels he will make down his own life’s highway. The steering wheel is in his hands, not mine. It is time for me to move aside to the shoulder, step outside and let him navigate his course.
