Private owned telecom companies wanted to establish themselves completely thus they are using innovative marketing strategies like the zoo zoos character for Vodafone ads. Where as BSNL stick to the same old marketing strategies in which they just simply explain there brand with the help of words. They stick to conventional way of marketing and thus they are not able to attract people to see their ads. Next come to recharge tariff in which private owned companies prove to be in favor of their customers. Thus the recharge tariff is less as compared to government owned companies. When it comes to broadband facilities private owned company like airtel has best unlimited plans while government owned company like BSNL has economical plans for limited use. One who are depend on internet the most should go for airtel broadband plan and one who use internet for a limited use should go for BSNL plan. Moreover BSNL broadband services are on 20% discount for those people who are government employees as it is government owned company. Thus the one who are government employees should go for BSNL broadband plan. BSNL and MTNL have much more subscribers than private owned companies in terms of providing its 3G services as both got 3G license much earlier than private owned companies as they are government owned companies. But when comes to internet speed and calling charges private owned companies like Vodafone and airtel are serving their customers with the best of it in which government owned companies lack. Thus both government and private owned telecom companies are best in one of the other way. Its all depends upon your usage and need. For landline use government owned telecom companies are best and for mobile phone use private owned telecom companies are best.
