A puppeteer maneuvers an inanimate object to make a sense of real human and animal characters on the stage. It is the art of creating illusion. According to the nature of puppetry, the puppeteer may remain visible or concealed from the audience. The puppeteer may make a puppet perform indirectly using wires, rods, strings, and electronics or in some cases using his or her hands. The transportation of knowledge through a verbal channel has ensured a closed door well known environment. In this environment the secrets of the professional puppeteer have travelled from one generation to another. The puppeteers do not lead a peaceful life. In the past, there were very few puppeteers who had their own houses. But they belonged to the class of traditional puppet players. They had attained this knowledge of art from their ancestors, senior members of the family or the elders. The art of making puppets out of wood is gradually dyeing. But, whatever may be the material of puppet, a puppet gives the same thing always. It is unmixed fun and laughter. This is why the puppet shop has existed in the market since a forgotten point of time.
