When Lord Arumuga grew up, Lord Shiva asked him to ruin Surapadma and free the Devas from their vicious bondage. Lord Murugan passed on Tiruchendur with his Brobdingnagian army and camped. He directed his lieutenant, Veerabahu to the asuras as an emissary and asked Surapadma to free the Devas. Since Surapadma turned down the asking, warfare resulted. Every hamlet was asked to give rice, ghee, curd, banana tree, saccharide, coconut meat, flower, thoopam (paper, turmeric, Cuminum cyminum, custard, Chinese parsley etc). Kollam year 621 (A.D 1447) The info in this lettering is that the farming was sold for 630 Kaliyugaraman Money" to perform pooja for Nakiradeva Nayanar in Subramania Pillaiyar Temple in Tiruchendur. Year 1903. Turn letter of the alphabet lettering informs that King Varagunan donated munificently for the yearly outgo of this synagogue. Kollam Year 650 (1476 A. D). Harmonising to this lettering determined at the local Sivakkolundeeswarar temple, Tiruchendur was called as Thirubhuvana Madevi Sathurvedi Mangalam.
