Snoring is usually used as a laughing-stock in movies but in reality, snoring is not funny. People who snore loudly every time they sleep are not laughable because snoring is a nuisance not only to the sufferers but also to the people around them. It may disturb one's sleep and may also disturb other people who can hear the annoying sound of snoring. If you are a person who snores on a nightly basis, it is important to know how to put an end to loud snores to enjoy a quiet uninterrupted night sleep and stop disturbing other people's sleep. Loud snores are not only a nuisance but could be a symptom of obstructive sleep apnea, a sleeping disorder that could be fatal. The pauses or abnormalities in breathing of a person with sleep apnea could be life threatening because it prevents the normal flow of air in a person's airways and can reduce the levels of oxygen in the body leading to increased risk of having cardiovascular disease. To prevent this from happening, it is a must to put an end to loud snores and become healthier. The following tips can be very helpful to put an end to loud snores. Consult your doctor. Snoring is usually just a nuisance because of the disturbing sound created by the movement of soft palate but if it becomes a health issue, it is best to see your doctor. Snoring could be a symptom of sleep apnea. There are medications that can also trigger snoring like sleeping pills and antihistamines so talk to your doctor about this. Comfortable sleeping position. Snoring can be triggered by improper sleeping position. Lying flat on your back may worsen your snoring problems because blockage of airways is more possible when lying flat on your back. Sleeping on your sides is more comfortable and lessens the risk of airways blockage. Changing your sleeping position might be all you need to put an end to loud snores. There are also anti-snoring pillows designed to help sufferers to put a stop to loud snores. Lose weight. If you have snoring problems and you are on the heavy side, you can put an end to loud snores by losing weight. Obese people tend to have bulky necks that could cause snoring problems. Snoring is not the only problem that could arise from being overweight. Obesity brings nothing but putting your health at risk. There are many diseases associated with obesity like heart disease, hypertension and diabetes. Losing weight will not only put an end to loud snores but it will also make you healthier and happier. Forget about smoking and alcohol drinking. Smoking is not good for your lungs, throat and nose which are the essential body parts responsible for good breathing and normal passage of air in and out of the body. Smoking can cause blockage on your airways especially on the lung vessels and can also cause swelling of tissues in the nose and throat that may result to snoring problems. Alcohol on the other hand is a relaxant that causes partial collapse of throat muscles that may lead to snoring problems. Eliminating these two unhealthy habits in your life will not only help you put an end to loud snores but it will also help you prevent serious diseases brought by these two substances. Treatments of snoring may vary from person to person. There is no "one size fits all" treatment for snoring. One treatment may be effective to you but not to others. It is important to find a treatment that will work for you.
