Quinine or Quinine sulphate falls into a special category of medicines called anti-protozoa agent. It is very useful in the treatment of malaria and prevents leg cramps in adults or aged people. Each tablet contains 300 mg or 600 mg Quinine Sulphate. In simple words, it is a natural white powder having a bitter taste used for fever-reducing and painkilling. Possible Side Effects of Quinine Sulphate - It is very important that all the users of this medicine should be aware of its serious side effect. In case of any type of allergic reaction they can get emergency medical help. Some of the allergic reactions of this medicine are - breathing difficulty and swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Some of the most common side effects of this medicinal drug are fever, chills, confusion, weakness, chest pain and urinating less than usual or not at all. Sometimes, severe vomiting, serious stomach pain and diarrhoea can also be seen in side effects.

The FDA has not approved Quinine Sulphate product for the treatment or prevention of leg cramps. Though, it is very useful in the treatment of malaria and leg cramps but it also has some serious and potentially deadly risks but not everybody gets them. Some serious haematological reactions may also be occurred with the intake of Quinine sulphate medical drug. For all those people who are already suffering from kidney or liver disease are given a different dose of this medical drug.

How to store - Quinine sulphate should not be disposed of household waste. One should always ask his doctor or pharmacist about its proper disposal. This will surely help in keeping the environment neat and clean. One should give proper attention in the storage of this medical drug. It should be kept out of children reach. It should be stored below the temperature of 25°C in a dry place. Avoid using Quinine sulphate tablets once it has crossed the expiry date stated on the label.
