Smoking, it sounds amazing at times the way one could make puffs of smoke releasing a lot of depression and sometimes releasing the stress as well. The other reason may be to impress your girlfriend just to show that you are grown up enough to smoke. This may start this way but believe it or not the smoke will occupy every corner of your lungs one day suffocating you and may be your loved ones too. Before you start to realize that you should quit smoking and you will try to lessen one by one cigarette a day just make sure you have to start it from today and the moment after reading this. The cigarette doesn’t only affect your lungs but it may cause various kinds of cancer and heart attacks too. So if you have decided to quit smoking then make a commitment list first. Commitment list: it comprises of the decision making. Why you want to quit? Make a list of things that may appear under this head. One of the reasons could be a healthy life, or whiter teeth etc. Once you are done with this list just make a list of those times when you feel the urge of smoking. Specially while working, or when you are on a walk etc. Once you get to know what triggers (be it emotion or thing) smoking you need to make a list of how to control such moments. One option will be a cranberry juice can or an orange juice can. Just keep it with you all the time. Whenever such a trigger happens just go ahead and drink some juice. It will distract you away for a while and researches have shown that cranberry juice induces an anti urge to smoking. Now you have to find an alternative method of distressing yourself such as exercising or yoga or meditation. How about swimming? That will be the best while you swim you won’t have to use a lighter and as you come out of swimming pool just have some juice. This doesn’t stops here because at a moment you will feel that you have been successful and hence trying one more cigarette wouldn’t affect you. This is called relapse. You have to control this phase too. Don’t let nicotine be your life! Happy quitting!
