There are many things with which the popular saying ‘’easy to say but difficult to do’’ can straightway be applicable. Giving up of the habit of smoking is one of them. People have made several provisions to assist the smokers so that they can get rid of this type of dangerous habit. It is dangerous for the reason that one do not want to understand how harmful this habit is. Moreover, people trying their best for coming out of this trap do fail repeatedly. On the other hand, prescriptions to assist the smokers so that they can quit smoking are not fewer. Cigarettes contain nicotine which is supposed to stimulate spirit within the body and mind. People believe that much of their tension is released if they smoke tobacco. Smokers are of the opinion that tobacco smoking presents calmness plus relaxation and help them work when they are under pressure. Nevertheless, the funny thing is that people generally start smoking when they are in their advanced stage of teenage. Smoking makes them feel that they are grown up and that they are as important as their elders. They do not think that they will ever quit smoking. Some people suggest that smokers should quit this habit gradually. It is hard to accept this view for the reason that addiction is allowed to remain alive in this process. There are chances that people will begin smoking more in future and a prescription like this will not succeed. There are two very important measures that may help or surely help in attempt to quit smoking. One of them should reach to the incumbent from outside, while the other should emerge from inside. Knowledge is valuable and everyone is aware of the power of knowledge. The smokers should be place in an environment where they can experience what a poison the burnt nicotine is. It is learned from the renowned scientists and researchers that cancer is directly related with habit of smoking. Smokers should also be informed that passive smokers (that is, close relatives and friends of the smokers who do not smoke) are to bear the burnt of the smoke exhaled by the cigarette smokers. Vigorous and daily campaign against smoking must be conducted through offline and online media. Finally, the smokers must be prepared to believe that it is not impossible for anyone to quit smoking. This motivation must generate from their mind. One should not forget that it is a long process. People have been smoking tobacco for thousands of years which is why success in this program cannot be easy or quick.
