Why is it so hard to quit? Is it habit, addiction or the environment around? Cigarette smoke contains nicotine and tar along with over 40 chemicals. Nicotine is one of the most addictive drugs, when taken in small amounts it gives pleasure to the smoker, but as you continue to use it, it will become an addiction that is almost impossible to quit.
Following Quit smoking tips is not an easy task. It may take several tries to quit due to moments of weakness. However there are MILLIONS of people who have quit smoking, if they can then so can you.
It takes a lot of will power to quit the addiction and follow quit smoking tips. However you are the only person who can make yourself quit by making a conscious effort to say “I do not smoke”. Once you have made the conscious decision to quit you can apply these simple quit smoking tips to relinquish it permanently and change your life for the better:
* Quitting in one go usually does not work. What you need to do is gradually cut down on it until you quit completely.
* As you cut down whenever you hold a cigarette in your hand try to convince yourself that it is a disgusting habit that should be avoided, saying this out loud, feeling the bitter taste in your mouth and thinking against that feeling are simple ways to do so.
* Find any type of hollow pipe with the same length and thickness of a cigarette. Inhale through it and oddly enough you will have the same feeling as with a normal cigarette.
Finally, set a date that you will quit completely and on that day stop smoking entirely. Keeping your reasons strong for quitting on that day will be of key value to success in quitting the addiction. Remember that there is no stronger power than your will and no greater asset in this endeavor than your self control.
