Reaching out to other people

"Share everything positive that you learn or do in your life and celebrate the successes of others. The more you can reach out to others and connect with them the more you are pushing your bipolar aside and bringing out the real you. If you feel nervous about connecting with others, say “I like myself, I like myself ” when you are on your own for 2 minutes as fast as you can. The more you like yourself the more confident you will feel and the easier it will be to connect with other people. Connecting with your fellow bipolars can be a wonderful experience. We often allow ourselves to believe that we are the only ones dealing with our particular mental health issues, leading to feelings of isolation and loneliness. This is a mistake. By sharing our experiences and hearing from those who have learnt to manage their bipolar, it becomes clear that we needn’t allow ourselves to be prisoners and that we can live the kind of lives we have always dreamed of.
