Advertising to fill positions can be risky Many who choose to advertise in local newspapers and magazines, hoping to recruit new hospitality staff, may find themselves inundated with applicants but those very applicants may not be right for your business. Look for a direct link to high quality well trained kitchen staff such as sous chefs, pastry chefs, food peppers, as well as front of house employees with the schools themselves. Upon completing their various courses and gaining a diploma or certificate of merit many of these former students now promote themselves through the school and, with that backing, have a definite “edge” over their competitors. Additionally, prospective employers can feel confident in hiring their new staff from an accredited school for their particular job requirements.
