In the fast paced business world, recruitment agencies can be a godsend to employers and hiring managers who just don't have the time to search out for their next star. But tread lightly Hiring Managers; not all Recruitment Agencies are created equally. Be weary of the tell tale signs of a poor operation and avoid those Recruitment Agencies at all costs. The Fibbers Ah the Fibbers. Great group, really they are. They often have the best of intentions, which in the recruitment world, is to fill your vacancy. And they are super confident that they can, at least, that's what they tell you. You see, the Fibbers won't always give it to you straight. They won't admit that they don't understand your business as well as they said they could. They won't always ask the questions that they need to ask because shaking your confidence in them is worse than a small fib or half truth here and there. Do you recognize any of these in your company? The Number Freaks The Number Freaks are super energetic and driven; they want to fill that vacancy of yours. These are exactly the traits you want in a Recruiter. However, the number Freaks are not pumped up by their passion for your industry or company. rnNo no, they are energetic and driven about filling the vacancy because that's what they need to do. The Number Freaks have a quota to reach, a team competition to win and your job vacancy is standing in the way. They will throw every resume at you that they can find, in the hopes that one will interest you. The Reactors When a Boom hits town, the Reactors will be there with candidates a plenty for your interviewing pleasure. The Reactors are great at responding to the market that way. The only thing is, when the market is slow, so too are the Reactors. If you are a job seeker, you may not hear back from a Reactor you have forwarded your CV to during a market surplus. If you are an employer, that job seeker may have been the star you are after! While the Fibbers, Number Freaks and Reactors all have strengths that they can bring to your recruitment efforts, their shortcomings overshadow the positive. With many options to choose from, avoid these recruitment agencies and find a recruiter who is proactive, straightforward and passionate about recruiting.
