There are many career options today. Especially the government jobs are in high demand by the youth of today. The job security and additional incentives provided by government jobs are unmatched by any private sector job available. Also, the pension plans provided by government jobs, make them the most coveted jobs of today's time. However, it is very essential for the government to appoint the right mediums to recruit individuals for these jobs as they require thorough knowledge of not merely the respective field but other fields as well. In such a scenario, our government has built a strong team of commissions and recruiting institutions to recruit capable individuals in various fields. Like, for bank exams there is Institute of Banking Personnel, similarly for jobs in government departments, there is SSC (Staff Selection Commission). Also, UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) has been appointed to recruit candidates for the most sought after career choice of today, the IAS. These commissions have been successful, over the years, in recruiting able individuals in their respective fields. They manage all the work, from prescribing the syllabus to designing the question papers.rnEntry into IAS: IAS is a highly coveted job, and therefore requires strict recruitment procedure. The IAS exams stretch throughout the year, it stages; IAS prelims and IAS mains. These exams are conducted by UPSC which designs a vast syllabus to make these exams challenging. The syllabus covers a large portion of various fields like political science, mathematics, English, history of India, geology, science and technology etc. After clearing the IAS prelim and IAS main, an interview session follows. Clearing this stage leads you to the training session; after which you are posted based on your merit rank.rnEntry into bank: Bank recruitment is also a very tough procedure, due to high demand of bank jobs. IBPS is one of the largest recruiters of banking sector. It has a large web of offices spread throughout India, where various recruitment exams are conducted. This, year in 2011, CWE for the post of bank po will be conducted by IBPS. It is a common written exam which will recruit individuals for 19 public sector banks of India. Scores of these exams will be given to the candidates in a score card, which can be presented if vacancy arrives in any of the 19 public sector banks involved.rnEntry into non-technical government jobs: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has been given the responsibility by the government of India to recruit individuals for non-technical posts in various departments of the government. A strong team of faculty in SSC prepares the syllabus and also designs the question paper of the exam which is conducted in various states for different posts. SSC conducts recruitment for posts like Lower Division Clerks, Inspectors of Central Excise, Divisional Accountants, Junior Engineers etcrn SSC also conducts typewriting tests in English and in Hindi.rnThus, SSC, UPSC AND IBPS are various mediums of the government to conduct exams for the respective fields. They are given a major responsibility which does not confine to conducting the exams. Their team does all the work from preparing the syllabus, to conducting exams and interview, advising the concerned state government with matters of recruitment, allowing promotions, making an annual report, etc.
