If you have a home-based business in Charlotte, it’s easy to believe you can maintain this set up for a long time. However, if you have plans for a business expansion, you have to be open to the possibility of moving to an office space. Setting up your business in an office space can be a big help in encouraging clients to do business with you. The process of moving to an office space is actually the easy part. What’s difficult is finding the right space for your business. You can easily fall victim to building proprietors who are looking to take advantage of your needs. The following are some things you have to watch out for to protect your interests. The rental rates sounds too good to be true Be wary if the proprietor of an office space in Charlotte offers a fixed lease agreement at rates that are significantly lower than those offered by neighboring buildings. Rental rates for commercial complexes and buildings usually fall within a fixed range. A low price offer could mean that the building is under litigation or arbitration. If you choose to rent in such buildings, you risk losing money. There are more vacancies than tenants The presence of vacant units in a building should not be a cause for alarm since many tenants come and go. However, it’s time to reconsider your choice if you notice that more than half of the prospective Charlotte office space building is empty. The fact that a building has many empty units can be an indicator of poor building management or unsafe building conditions. The surrounding neighborhood appears questionable If you look around the neighborhood of the prospective Charlotte office space and you find dilapidated buildings, then you’re probably better off somewhere else. These conditions will not contribute to your business growth and might even cause negative impressions on clients. Inadequate security for the building is a big no-no, too. Getting to the office space takes you hours Observe the traffic situation when you drive or commute to a potential Charlotte office space. If it takes hours to get there even if it isn’t rush hour, then this place is not ideal for your business. If you choose this office space, you’re likely to end up wasting your time and money on transportation
