People who suffer from red skin coloration on the face, neck or other areas can be embarrassed by their condition. Some may not want to go out like others because of the redness that can flare up. There are several ways to help reduce the problems with red skin. What are the Options? Each individual can have a specific situation that causes the redness. Examining the causes along with the options can help to find the best solution: Family – it is possible that a genetic trait has caused blood vessels to form closer to the surface of the skin, which can cause more frequent flare ups or even permanent redness on the skin. While resolving this may seem more difficult, there are options available including using a concealer, changing diet, and improving your skin care regimen. Extreme temperatures – when facing very cold or very hot weather, the temperature changes can cause the blood vessels in the skin to overreact, increasing facial redness. Wear protection if possible including a scarf or a cooling towel and reduce exposure to extreme weather when possible. Airborne particles – items such as dust, dirt, pollen, or other allergens can irritate the skin. Washing skin regularly will help greatly. You can purchase anti redness cream to help prevent facial redness. Chemicals – some types of sprays, household cleaners, perfumes or other items can cause skin to have an adverse reaction and redness can flare up. Avoid the use of strong chemicals that could irritate the skin. Skin care – your skin should be washed daily and have proper skin care treatments applied. This can include cucumber treatments, oatmeal masks and other remedies that can reduce redness. Also carefully choose the type of moisturizers or astringents that you use. Make sure the treatments are clinically proven to be safe for your particular skin type. Foods – there are certain types of foods that can help reduce redness. Carrots, berries, broccoli and other moisture-rich foods can help to hydrate the skin. As always, drinking plenty of water can help cleanse the skin from the inside out as well as they keep it hydrated. Make up – using concealers or other make up items can help to hide the redness issues. Experiment to find what types of combinations will look the most natural for your skin type while also helping to hide the red areas of your skin. There are a variety of products on the market today that claim to help red skin. It is important to buy anti redness cream that is clinically tested to be safe and is dermatologist-tested. Redness does not need to be a crippling condition.
