Many customers have gone to court asking for compensation from one of China’s biggest internet retailer after the company failed to provide sightseeing trips for 1 yuan. 360buy is one of China’s largest online traders with good reputation; China consumers are willing to complete transactions on the platform which is thought to be reliable. 360buy advertised sightseeing packages, including one to Shaoxing, a historic city in East China’s Zhejiang province, at a cost of 1 yuan per customer on March 19. The trip is extremely cheap but as the ad claims that it includes breakfast, a one-night stay in a hotel and entrance fees for some scenic spots. About 1,700 people had purchased that trip, and 10,412 had ordered a 1 yuan trip to a scenic spot in Mianyang, Sichuan province. However, customers found the trips were canceled and their money returned to their accounts. rn360buy said the tourism promotion was canceled as it is a test website and the company said it is due to technical problems. Later the company agreed to give some vouchers as compensation for consumers who are not satisfied because they have to use the voucher on the same website, which means they need to consume more on the same website. E-business operators may use extremely low price to attract more attention and lure more customers. In the case, although the money was refund to consumers in vouchers mode, which still can not make the consumer victims satisfied. IBUonline gives a warning to online consumers be cautious about online shopping, especially those with extremely unbelievable low price, even if the ad is posted on good reputed e-business website.
