The mind can be used to achieve almost anything one desires. It all requires knowing what to do with the powerful tool given to all humanity. Those who are experiencing stress and anxiety can use body in mind techniques to deal with these unfavorable states. Remaining stressed and anxious can have detrimental effects on one’s health. It is important to know the type of techniques to use to relax. A relaxed mind is better capable of handling any situation. Decisions are better made when the mind is at peace. Since one carries their mind everywhere they go, these techniques can be done practically anywhere. Body in mind techniques are meant to tap into the power of the mind for the relaxation of the whole body. The mind has vast potentials. By tapping into its power, relaxation is one of the things that can be achieved. Meditation is a technique that engages the mind to bring about relaxation. When meditating, one intentionally focuses away from the stressful situation. This then gives the mind and body an opportunity to relax. For those who find it difficult to meditate, listening to binaural beats can help in meditation. These beats are in themselves relaxing as they produce frequencies that relax the brain. Breathing greatly influences the effectiveness of meditation. By breathing more deeply, that is, using the diaphragm and not just the chest, more oxygen is pumped into the body. This lowers the heart rate and allows the mind to relax. Meditation can then be effectively done. One way to relax using meditation is by sitting cross-legged with the spine upright. Place a candle in front of you. While steadily breathing, gaze at the brightness of the candlelight for two minutes. Close your eyes while still visualizing the light. When the image fades away, repeat the process as much as is needed. This process will immediately relax the mind and the body. Another body in mind technique is visualizing and spatial exercises. One way to visualize is to picture oneself moving around the galaxy. One can also visualize splitting themselves into pieces with each part traveling to a different zone. Afterwards, allow the pieces to come together as one. Spatial exercises involve picturing an object in the mind and rotating it 360 degrees over and over again. Simple shapes can be pictured at the beginning before progressively moving to more complicated shapes. This exercise can be repeated often to improve one’s spatial ability. Organizing the area you operate in creates order and this in turn empowers the mind and relaxes the body. This is a great tool to use when one needs to focus, clear the mind, or become less forgetful. The organized space gives a sense of relief to the mind and body to bring about relaxation. Neuro-feedback is a body in mind technique that involves changing the measure of a particular physiology such as breathing and heart rate. This technology has gained scientific recognition although those who participate in it are not able to clearly describe how they bring about the change. This illustrates the power of the mind to achieve a desired goal.

Instead of living in the moment, we live for the most part in our minds, cluttered with thoughts. These thoughts are in fact part of our memories from the past. These memories are either pleasant or unpleasant, depending upon whether we had a like or dislike towards them when they occured. For example, instead of enjoying the holiday you have been looking forward to, you spend most of your time thinking about your work whilst on holiday. You cannot fully relax and appreciate
