Panic attacks are very frightening. But what causes them and how can they be cured?
Panic attacks occur when the subconscious mind relates a current event to anrnemotion from the past, this is called emotional resonance. All the person feels isrnan overwhelming desire to get out of a situation or to avoid it all together. Thernmemory of the event and its accompanying emotion remain in their subconscious mind, and it continues to cause anxiety and stress in the person until it is released.
People who suffer from panic attacks tell me of the sheer terror and anxiety theyrncause. They may experience some or all of these feelings: heart racing, hyperventilating, shaking of legs/hands, sweating and feelings of not been in control. These feelings are caused by adrenaline released into the body when your subconscious mind activates the “fight or flight” response, because it perceives that you are in danger (this doesn’t have to be a physical danger, it can be the danger of doing something silly, saying something silly, the threat of being rejected etc).
When a panic attack has happened in any situation or event, the subconsciousrnmind will then want to avoid the situation or event itself and will attach the scary/fearful feeling to it. This leads to the panic response being triggered time and time again by the same or similar situation or event. The result is that you begin to avoid more and more situations and/or events, in order to avoid this feeling. The fear of having a panic attack becomes as bad as actually experiencing one.
A combination of analytical hypnotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy canrnhelp you to uncover, address and remove the many different layers of negativernthoughts, emotions and beliefs that have been embedded in your subconsciousrnmind and replace them with more positive emotions and a calmer, more relaxedrnattitude to life.
Through this type of therapy you can rationalise past negative experiences - understand them, see them as they actually were and put them in their true and proper perspective. When the trapped negative emotions and the associated tensions are released, the panic and fear is resolved and you can find permanent relief from the panic attacks.
