Remaining Healthy, Happy and Positive During Testing Times

What do we mean by the phrase “testing times”? There are periods in the life of every person, when certain events and situations demand greater inner strength, courage, faith, stamina, energy, understanding, optimism, inner security and self-confidence. These times may be personal, familial, social or even planetary. It could be a personal illness or the illness of a loved one. We might lose our job or other source of income. The loss of a loved one is the most intense for all of us. We may need to work many more hours just to survive.
We may have lost all of our savings in the stock market, or have had to resort to bankruptcy. We may lose a limb or an important bodily organ. A loved one may being going through a psychological crisis and behave in irrational ways. We may have just found out that our spouse is cheating on us or that our child is taking drugs or is very unhappy. War, floods, fires, earthquakes and other natural disasters are all “testing times.”
Today we are as a planet going through a financial crisis in which many are being tested in myriad ways. Although each is being and will be affected to a different degree and in various ways, we are as a planet passing through testing times conce
ing the economy, environment and peaceful stability.
The suggestions in this book are applicable to all types of testing times regardless as to whether they are personal or social.
It is very natural for us to feel conce
ed about our future when we see the economy struggling, people getting laid off, lacking basic needs while at the same time anger is building in many sectors of society. You, as many others, might naturally be feeling pain, fear, anxiety, betrayal, anger and even hate towards those you believe are responsible for what has happened and is happening.
These emotions however do not help us deal with the situation effectively. They disrupt and weaken our nervous, endocrine and immune systems compromising our health, vitality, clarity and ability to deal effectively with life’s pressures and demands.
Additionally negative feelings and thoughts tend to attract to us, through the law of attraction and manifestation, even more of what we are feeling negative about. We energize and attract realities by fearing or holding strong emotions towards them.
This leads to a vicious circle of becoming easily upset, fearful and disoriented by various events and situations causing us to react negatively even when we would prefer not to. Our relationships suffer and our pain and frustration increase. Our thinking becomes more confused and we react compulsively making less enlightened decisions.
These are “testing times” and we need to be very much in touch with our inner power and wisdom to navigate them successfully by maintaining our health, happiness, peace, love and unity with our family and our society as well as all of humanity. This is an opportune time to develop our inner wisdom, power and guidance as we develop into more mature beings.
The essence of what we need to remember is that what is happening is not a mistake, nor some kind of punishment. It is something that we all have chosen on a spiritual level as an opportunity to let go of old limiting beliefs, emotions, values and concepts and move forward in our psychological, emotional, mental, social and spiritual development.
We have all together chosen to create these times in order to give ourselves the opportunity to move forward personally and socially. We have much to learn and much to gain by dealing positively with what is happening.
In this book we will offer a number of effective means for dealing with this crisis more effectively and successfully, without fear or anxiety.
Before we continue remember one simple fact.
At this time 5 billion people (80%) on this planet live and have been living all of theirs lives and will continue to on less than $ 10 a day, that is $ 300 a month.
Three billion of those have been living and will be living on less than $ 2.50 / day, or $ 75 a month and 1.4 billion on only $ 37 a month.
This in no way means that we should lower our standard of living. But we need to realize that these fellow souls are very likely not any less happy that you and I. They may even have less anxiety as they have very little to actually lose. They love and are loved by their families, do something to gain their meager living, the eat something simple, they rest and enjoy their free time in simple ways, with family and friends. They do not cry all day, and they probably laugh and smile as much as any of us.
Why is this important to know? The fact is that it extremely unlikely that your life will ever be as economically challenged as theirs – especially if you employ some of the suggestions in this book. The fact is that they are already living your worst nightmare and are not any less happy than you are.
Have this in mind as we now explore ways in which you can maintain your health, happiness, peace, effectiveness and abundance during these “testing times.”
Remember that when we use the words “testing times”, we are not only referring the general economic, ethical, social, psychological and spiritual crisis the planet seems to be going through, but also any time any person or family is passing through difficulties of any nature.
