A piece of red apple works great as a home remedy for heartburn. When you feel heartburn coming on, cut up an apple and have a piece or two. It can seem a bit unappealing sometimes but I often end up enjoying the first piece or two so much that I eat all of it. There is a reason why they say "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" and it's true, they are so good for you.

Another very popular home heartburn remedy is apple cider vinegar. One teaspoon of apple cider vinegar a day is recommended. It boosts acid levels within the stomach which will help your stomach to digest its contents more effectively. The only thing is, it doesn't exactly taste great but you can sweeten it up with a little bit of honey and add it to a glass of water to dilute it and make it easier to get down. One last thing, on the topic of water, drink lots of it. Your body needs it. 5 to 8 glasses a day depending on your body weight.
